the new and trendy, not-so “secret spot” search
Newest of trends you may ask? LIV may still be standing at the top of the nightlife podium with a bottle of Moet in one hand and a Swarovski covered award in the other, but Miami is taking its turn away from club scene and bringing in a whole lot of character. Not only are restaurants becoming more gourmet but the bars are making their come around each with their own uniqueness by not being as flamboyant or “obvious” like before. One of my favorite spots in Miami for drinks and good music actually has their entrance in an alley off of Alton. Know what I’m talking about yet? Foxhole is SoBe’s local speakeasy with one entrance and exit, no sign, just a big heavy door. Craziest part about this spot is it just might not be so secret anymore. The hole in the wall is just a small little place that fits a whole lot of people, and I must say its quite the lounge like atmosphere with guns hanging on the wall ( you know, just in case anyone comes in to tear down the fort) and private seating areas. They have billards, lounge areas and then of course the bar in the middle. The second floor with more seating and areas to hangout, overlooks the downstairs bar giving it a concert hall/ club feeling and it pretty much could be one.
Foxhole is the only place I know on the beach that I could walk in at 2:30 in the morning and have the time of my life because it’s just always that lively and the music is always that good. Their djs make sure to cover it all: The EDM lovers will have their favorite Carnage set all of a sudden mashing with old school Ying Yang twins, flipping into giving Romero some batchata spotlight and then all of a sudden Niki Minage and Lil Wayne’s newest collab will come on, somehow they make it work, like REALLY well. You’ll be jamming all night. Greatest part? The crowd. Foxhole has someone for everyone you’re the fox at you’re own watering hole. Are you in your 40s, a College student, LGBT, or just want to go have a drink and dance because you weren’t feeing Story tonight? Foxhole has simply accomplished it all, being a hot spot without all the overrated glitz and glam, just a nice hole in the wall with a really great vibes. Hope you find it!
