So after hearing much word of mouth and rumors about the latest brunch spots piled together on 2nd Avenue, I had to take my enthusiasm for breakfast and go sip on a mimosa at one of these spots. My first and only stop so far has been Lemoni Cafe, which also has a second part to their spot that is a pizzeria next door. Although I haven’t had the pizza (which i’m sure is just as great), Lemoni Cafe, the “Eat Good, Feel Good” hit of MiMo which makes you feel as if you walked straight into a local spot in Europe. Covered in book cases and packed to the tee, customers are elbow-to-elbow in this hole-in-the-wall, but no one cares because everyone is salivating over their brunch- now that’s a real Sunday for you. The joint has everything from paninis to salads to soups, wraps, sandwiches, quesadillas and bites. And of course, what is a Sunday without a bottomless Mimosas option? Customers pile in for their table after work, after the gym, after crawling out of bed- you name it and their there for the soul-warming meal of goodness.- But I’m sorry, before I get too far I can’t continue with making you believe this is an ordinary cafe with charm. So to wet your taste buds some, I shall recommend some of their menu: make sure to try their Salmon & Goat Cheese Burger Panini with capers, garlic mayo, and lemon dressing or their Lemon Mint Quinoa Salad with strawberries, oranges, beets, goat cheese, and almonds. Not a fan of mint? Try their now Corn & Chickpea salad with spinach, cucumber, avocado, crumbled feta, walnuts and cilantro. Feeling vegan today? Their Assia’s Bean Burger Wrap has eggplant, zucchini, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. A little curry? Their Curry Chicken Salad Wrap has cherry tomatoes, brown rice, carrots, almond and curry ranch dressing. As you can see, I can go on for days but I’ll stop at their choices of Prosciutto, Portobello, or Melted Brie bites because if not I can go on for days. They even have a brunch menu that includes your traditional pancakes, quinoa omelettes and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options from vegan “meatballs” casserole, vegan coconut cutlets or vegan cookies. This is obviously the new health-conscious haven and they’ve ever so simply and naturally (pun intended) revived what it is to go out for a healthy meal without being left unsatisfied or feeling like you’re eating rabbit food. They literally have it all, so go get a mimosa to sip on with a side of health-conscious haven.
