When Mediterranean meets modern -no white walls, blue napkins or plate-throwing here, but the Greek local spot with the industrial-style twist still has food that screams haven. Located right off the 79th street causeway, Mina’s is truly warming souls with all your Mediterranean faves making you want to scream the most cliche “Opa!”. Take a seat at their bar or spacious, industrial-chic arrangement and wash down your hard day by starting off with their refreshing Fresco Verde that consists fresh muddled cucumber, mint and basil, honey, old tom gin and ginger beer. How about their Alexandrian Dusk that is a Date infused vodka, with cane juice, sandalwood syrup and Pomegranate liqueur. Is your hour happiest simple? Mina’s has all your favorite wines and brews, even some Greek selections! But before you start feeling flawless off the bar’s selection, let’s talk what is really important here- FOOD. Let your mouth water with their appetizers like authentic grape leaves, stuffed cabbage, spanakopita, and probably the crispiest calamari in Miami. Or how about some lamb or gyro sliders to start? For dinner, step into the crisp blue waters of Greece with a plate of Moussaka (baked eggplant with potato, bechamel & beef ragout), Lam Tagine or even a Greek Pizza. Cant decide what to splurge on? Don’t worry, Mina’s has large plates to share to be able try the most of heaven from Kebab Plates to Greek Noodle Bowls and even Osso Buco – lamb shank braised in wine sauce with mashed potatoes. But before you start falling too in love, don’t forget your baklava to finish off this food frenzy- I have no shame in bagging it.
Already know you’re going to be in the mood for bottomless Mimosas this Sunday? Pair them off with Mina’s Mascarpone Pancakes. You officially have brunch plans.
Mina’s offers brunch on Saturdays starting at noon and Sunday at 11am.
